Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Assistant and Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice and requires a solid understanding of medical terminology and patient care processes. We are a small office so this position is a dual role and will interchange based on the needs of office. We will pay according to experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
- Collect patient information, including medical history and insurance details.
- Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to appropriate staff members.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process billing and insurance claims accurately.
- Assist healthcare providers with basic administrative tasks as needed.
- Monitor patient flow to minimize wait times and enhance patient experience.
- Understand vital signs and assist in taking them when necessary.
- Provide support to the doctor during procedures and for office follow ups.
- Scribe for the doctor during patient's appointments.
- Enter Patient's medications and create orders for referral services and ordered procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Assistant in a similar role within outpatient settings is preferred but not necessary.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology knowledge is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is desirable but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is an advantage.
