Assistant Professor of Psychology - Department Chair PotentialBriar Cliff University of Iowa, an institution committed to higher education within a liberal arts and Catholic perspective, invites applications for a 9-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Psychology position beginning in August 2025. The area of expertise is open, but preference will be given to candidates with specialization in (a) Developmental Psychology, (b) Clinical Psychology, or (c) Behavioral (i.e., Behavior Analysis). For candidates with specialization in Behavior Analysis, preference will be given to candidates that are accredited as Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA).Regardless of the specialization, candidates should have experience teaching/be prepared to teach Introductory Psychology courses and courses in Professional Development and Research Methods. Below is a listing of courses specific to each specialization (successful candidates should be able to teach all courses listed for their respective specialization).Developmental Specialization:
- Developmental Psychology
- Child and Adolescent Psychology
- Adulthood and Aging
- Abnormal Psychology
- Theories of Personality
- Forensic Psychology
- Principles of Learning
- Behavioral Interventions
- Single-Subject Research Methods
- A Ph.D. or the ability to show evidence of the planned receipt of the degree before the Fall 2025 semester.
