Job Summary:
This position is responsible for successfully teaching members of all ages and abilities how to improve
their swimming and/or comfort in the water in a safe and positive environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instruct swimming lessons on a regular basis and be an integral member of the staff by ?involving yourself in The Briar Club Aquatic Program.
- Instruct a progressive swimming lesson program.
- Develop/follow lesson plans for instruction prior to each lesson/class.
- Review and update the web schedule on a daily basis for new lessons and or cancellations
- Must abide by all Briar Club rules and policies. All lessons and cancellations from an instructor must take place at least 24 hours in advance. If you miss a scheduled swim lessons without good reason; can lead to termination of your Briar Club contract.
- Maintain records of attendance and billing for all swim lessons.
- Familiarize class members with basic rules and safety standards at the beginning of each session and adhere to them strictly.
- Maintain a friendly and considerate interest in the members of our Aquatic Programs at all times.
- Responsible for cleaning up all equipment use for your lesson
- Attend and assist in monthly staff meetings and leader training sessions, to keep up with new innovations in swimming techniques and instruction.
- Keep supervisor informed on needs for equipment and equipment maintenance.
- Be well informed on emergency procedures and accident report procedures.

Essential Physical Requirements:
- Ability to Lift/Carry 10 pounds or less occasionally;1-33% of the time
- Ability to Push/Pull 12 pounds or less occasionally; 1-33% of the time
- Ability to Twist, turn, reach above shoulder, reach outward, stand, walk, taste or smell, work at or above shoulder occasionally; 1-33% of the time
- Ability to Bend, squat, kneel, talk or hear frequently; 34-66% of the time
- Ability to work inside and outside 95%/5%
- Noise level is: Mid to high
