What can you expect?
As the Project Quality Control Specialist, you will work onsite in field rotations for several weeks in remote job locations in Alaska, typically seven days a week for ten hours a day. If not in the field, you will work on-site out of the Anchorage office. You will be responsible for maintaining quality standards by reviewing and approving incoming materials, in-process production, finished products, reporting and recording the results. You must have excellent communication and leadership skills as well as keen attention to detail.
How will you do it?
- Responsible for overall execution and implementation of project quality controls with the authority to act in all project quality control matters.
- Develop, review, or approve project submittal packages prior to submission to client.
- Approve incoming materials for conformance to contract, specifications, and approved submittals.
- Responsible for conducting visual inspections and taking measurements, tests, and rejections of unacceptable materials.
- Conduct inspections and audit programs and initiate corrective actions based on review of data or customer input.
- Approve all finished products by confirming specification conformance and conducting required tests.
- Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs.
- Ensure that procedures and processes initiated and performed by project employees are done in accordance with safety procedures.
- Coordinate and lead project site meetings for quality control.
- Organize and maintain project documentation for the project team and provide appropriately to the client.
- Directly responsible for the production of daily project reporting including timekeeping; environmental and permit compliance; daily reports.
- Prepare correspondence as needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following company standards and procedures including compliance with OSHA regulations, legal regulations, and environmental regulations.
- Coach and mentor junior employees; seek opportunities to grow leadership in others.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, attending seminars, watching industry videos, etc.
- Accomplish organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Work with Construction Superintendent and Project Manager to provide updates to the project schedule.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination among all project participants.
- Become fully acquainted with the requirements of each project contract
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Functions:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability and knowledge of computer-based construction and scheduling programs required. Must have in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience with MS Project, Excel, and Word.
- Must be able to create detailed administrative documents, daily reports and other project related documents as required by individual contracts.
- Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, business partners, and clients via written and verbal communication methods.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others; ability to work with employees, business partners, and customers in a friendly and positive manner.
- Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts, and make decisions based on available information. Ability to use judgment and discretion.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to interpret and communicate project plans and drawings.
Who is Brice Solutions looking for?
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Five (5) years of Construction experience required.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office Suite required.
- Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Brice Solutions’ Driving Policy.
- Ability to pass a drug, driving, and background screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management is preferred.
