What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Counselor position at Brickeology?
OVERVIEW:
Brickeology is a home-grown, family-owned, Lego-themed business and we are seeking ENTHUSIASTIC & DETAIL-ORIENTED individuals with KNOWLEDGE OF LEGO to join our team as Camp Leaders. As a Camp Leader, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children while creating memorable experiences in a fun and safe environment. DATES NEEDED:
We're seeking someone to work ALL 5 of our Bellevue area camps. Dates are June 9-13, July 7-11, July 14-18 (two camps back to back), and July 28-Aug 1. Camps are 3 hours each with time allowed for set up prior and clean up after.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and engage with campers during daily activities.
- Lead age-appropriate games.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
- Assist in the implementation of camp games and programs as laid out in the manual.
- Provide guidance and support to campers.
- Foster a positive and inclusive camp community.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors and staff to create a positive camp experience.
-Keep the LEGO organized!
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting is preferred.
- A working knowledge of LEGO is essential!
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond to emergencies.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of children up to 20.
- Background in early childhood education or related field is beneficial but not required.
- Experience in educating, babysitting, tutoring, is desirable.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years old or older.
- MUST have a reliable source of transportation.
-Must be able to work all camps in the Bellevue area, see above for dates.
-Must be able to attend paid training in Nolensville during the last half of May.
- Pass a background check and provide references.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, patience, and creativity.
