Brick-Blocklayer/ Stonemason

• BAC Local 1 WA/AK is looking for experienced (4 years)
• Bricklayers/Stonemasons to relocate to Western WA.
• The wages are $50.77 on the check and $18.30 in benefits (paid by the employer) $69.07 total package.

Bricklayer/ Stonemason work includes all forms of construction, maintenance, repair, and renovation utilizing natural or artificial brick, stone, concrete block, concrete and masonry panels, exterior marble, precast/prefabricated masonry, terra cotta, glass block, cork, refractory materials, brick paving, dry stack retaining wall.

Job Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints and drawings to determine the specifications for masonry work.
• Mix cement, sand, and water to create mortar, and spread it over the foundation to lay bricks and stones.
• Cut and shape bricks and stones to fit the required design using tools such as hammers, chisels, and power saws
• Apply mortar to bricks and stones and lay them in the designated pattern to build walls, arches, and other structures.
• Create forms and molds to shape concrete into desired shapes and sizes
• Install chimneys and other decorative masonry features
• Repair and maintain existing masonry structures, including filling in cracks and gaps and replacing damaged bricks and stones
• Collaborate with other construction professionals, including architects and contractors, to ensure projects are completed according to specifications
• Follow safety procedures and regulations to ensure the work site is safe for all workers and visitors

Qualifications

• Must apply with the BAC Local 1 WA/AK Union
• Must attend required union training and classes
• The ability to travel as needed for local business
• Demonstrated problem-solving and people skills
• High accuracy in work, attention to detail
• Proven oral and written skills required
• Hold a valid driver s license
• Extensive standing, stooping, walking, handling, and grasping with repetitive motions
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
