What are the responsibilities and job description for the Footwear Pattern Designer position at BrickRed Systems?
We are seeking Footwear Pattern Engineer who will play a pivotal role in the development of early-stage footwear prototypes, turning initial sketches and renderings into tangible products. The candidate will collaborate with footwear designers, developers, and engineers across various categories, influencing both the design and technical direction of projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Partner with footwear designers, developers, and engineers to understand their vision for new footwear products.
- Influence the design and technical direction of footwear projects using your expertise in pattern engineering and product creation.
- Use PROCAM Dimensions CAD software to transform 2D design sketches and 3D renderings into accurate, manufacturable footwear patterns.
- Build footwear prototypes from start to finish, utilizing both machinery and hands-on techniques.
- Ensure that prototypes meet design and quality standards.
- Lead projects that drive process improvements and establish new standards within the lab.
- Contribute to footwear community by assisting with educational initiatives, including leading Shoe School classes.
- Work on the R&D of footwear products from initial concept to retail-ready models.
- Consult with the product triad to clarify concepts, offer pattern-making expertise, and incorporate design / marketing feedback during fit sessions.
- Inspect samples, critique designs, and create / revise product specifications for manufacturing.
