What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandise Director position at BrickRed Systems?
We are seeking a Director, Category Merchandiser with deep expertise in retail or global merchandising to drive the vision for the Women’s category. This role will focus on consumer insights, assortment planning, go-to-market strategies, and product management. You will collaborate closely with global and regional teams to build Consumer Right Assortments that align with business objectives and market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consumer Right Assortment Strategy:
- Act as an expert in building and refining product assortments for the assigned category and location.
- Brief product teams on consumer needs, upcoming trends, and category/geography insights.
- Work across product teams to ensure retail alignment in product creation.
- Product Line Planning & Execution:
- Edit the product line to meet revenue targets, using both directed assortments and global core product selections.
- Build directed assortments that align with the category vision, collaborating with geographies and retail teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with regional teams across North America, China, and Western & Eastern Europe to ensure strategic alignment.
- Work closely with global cross-functional teams to support category goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 8 years of experience in retail or merchandising at a Buyer or Director level
- Proven ability to drive strategic points of view within merchandising and product planning
- Hands-on experience with assortment and product line planning software
- Strong background in working with highly cross-functional teams
- Experience with global merchandising
- Background in apparel and footwear merchandising (Nice to have)
