Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team in a busy restaurant setting. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing delicious meals for our guests, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. We value passion, attitude, and willingness to learn over previous experience. We are not just trying to hire people but are looking to add the last few pieces to complete our team. Both Chef and Sous Chef are dedicated to teaching and inspiring those who are truly passionate and want to learn improve their craft. We are looking for an individual that works well with the team as well as can manage themselves and the kitchen on their own. Experience preferred but not necessary.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including entrees, appetizers, and desserts, according to menu specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and handling regulations.
- Assist with meal preparation and food presentation, ensuring dishes are visually appealing and meet the highest standards.
- Monitor inventory and order supplies and ingredients as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, providing excellent customer service when interacting with guests and colleagues.
- Follow all restaurant policies and procedures, including those related to food safety and quality control.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the food industry, preferably in a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of meal preparation and food handling practices.
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and the ability to accommodate special requests.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Current certification in food safety and handling is preferred.
Skills:
- Experience in a catering or restaurant environment.
