Job Summary: We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Care Staff in our group home facility. As a Direct Care Staff member, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals with diverse abilities or special needs. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the overall well-being, safety, and comfort of our residents. This position requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to residents in accordance with their individual care plans and preferences.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and document residents' physical and emotional well-being, reporting any significant changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals and follow proper documentation procedures.
- Promote a positive and supportive environment, fostering independence and encouraging residents' active participation in daily activities.
- Engage residents in social and recreational activities, promoting socialization and community integration.
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for residents, including performing housekeeping and laundry duties as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members, healthcare professionals, and family members to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations governing the group home facility and resident care.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
CPI, First Aid, CPR for Adult and Child, Bloodborne Pathogens and Medication Administration. Ability to report orally and in writing knowledge of emotional needs of individuals.
Education/Experience Requirement:
Highschool Graduate or GED, Must be 18 years of age and above.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
