Position Summary
The Resident Care Director (RN / LPN) plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Resident Care Department to assure resident safety, and attain or maintain the highest practicable quality assisted living services focused on maximizing residents' individual capabilities in accordance with all laws, regulations and Century Park standards. Reports to the Executive Director (or Assisted Living Director, if applicable).
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum ASN degree from accredited college or university
- Must be currently licensed / registered in applicable State
- Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing throughout employment
- Must have two (2) years supervisory experience in senior care, or related setting
- Must have CPR certification upon hire, or obtain during orientation, certification must remain current during employment
- Must have current First Aid certification (if required by State)
Primary Job Responsibilities
Administrative and Planning
Plans, develops, organizes, implements and evaluates resident care goalsMaintains compliance with budget in labor and expense controlCreates, manages and approves scheduling for Resident Care staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels 24 / 7Resident Care Focus
Works with Executive Director and / or Assisted Living Director to build relationships with residents and familiesCompletes Resident assessments, develops and implements service plans and communicates these outcomes with resident and / or family member upon admission, and as often as is State mandated, no less than semi annually and as neededConducts incident report follow up investigation and ensures completion of resident status documentationPrepares for survey readiness and follow up to ensure Plan of Correction is appropriately and timely completedDevelops and monitors quality improvement planCompletes audits and observations to ensure associate compliance with Infection Control and other resident care regulationsEnsures documentation of resident clinical status / needs, communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionalsInvestigates and resolves resident and family concerns and complaints in collaboration with Executive DirectorMedication Management Focus
Oversees medication program including accuracy of medication assistance records (MARs), providing hands on medication assistance to residents and monitoring med passesProvides communication and follow up with provider pharmacy to ensure compliance with resident medication ordersConducts regular audits of medication records, med storage areas, MARs and Narcotic Declining InventoriesSupervisory Requirements
