Practice Manager
SUMMARY
At Bridge City Animal Hospital, our team of veterinarians will be by your pet’s side at every stage of life. We provide comprehensive wellness and preventative care services for cats and dogs, as well as other small animals.
The Practice Manager is the financial and operational leader of the Hospital. He / She works together with the hospital leadership as well as CVP to ensure efficient day to day operations and successful financial performance. The Practice Manager leads by example to motivate and inspire the team to provide an excellent experience for our clients and their pets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resources
- Administrate all human resource functions including staff recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, and terminations.
- Manage annual performance evaluations. Responsible for performance evaluations for supervised staff with the assistance of the department lead.
- Implement and maintain Employee Safety and Disaster Plan procedures and manuals.
- Assure compliance with OSHA and Workers’ Compensation programs.
- Distribute all necessary communication materials with staff, including policy changes, relevant information discussed at meetings, and client feedback.
- Mediate personnel grievance, documenting all reprimands and counseling meetings

In addition, the Practice Manager may work scheduled shifts during which he or she will be responsible for providing client service and / or direct patient care.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Practice Manager is responsible for managing all hospital team members.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years of veterinary or human healthcare experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certification in Veterinary Practice Management preferred.
COMPETENCIES
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of the Adaptive and the Netsuite accounting systems; MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. Experience with Veterinary software a plus.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The Practice Manager is required to participate in operational meetings hosted by CVP. Potential to attend off site conferences, seminar and workshops.

This job operates in a professional animal hospital / clinic. This role may have exposure to electromagnetic radiation, anesthetic gases, unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
