Job Overview:
Bridge City Design Build is seeking highly motivated shop employees who can help perform and oversee areas such as CNC Router operation, building casework, specialty millwork, and finishing cabinetry parts. As a Shop Apprentice, you will be required to create and assemble products made of wood and/or related materials. This individual will perform hand or machine work needed to layout, cut, shape, and assemble products (such as: cabinet doors, frames, trim, moldings, and fixtures) from rough sketches, drawings, or as directed. Shop Apprentices will also be instructed to set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines, such as CNC routers, edge banders, panel saws, power saws, jointers, planers and shapers. In addition, this role may occasionally make visits to residential projects for minor millwork projects, repairs, and general carpentry tasks.
Roles:
- Use a tape measure proficiently and understand dimensions for finishing a product.
- Work independently and be detail oriented.
- Have the ability to read shop drawings and work orders.
- Produce quality custom cabinets and specialized millwork.
- Handle woodworking equipment and tools proficiently and safely.
- Meet production goals with precision.
- Answer questions and give guidance to employees when they have questions while troubleshooting.
- Ensure company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship and polite communication.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Examines materials and products for defects, finish, and grade, and accuracy of dimensions.
- Maintains workstation in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion, and performs job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Utilize woodworking tools to complete custom projects.
- Identify concerns or problems with current design or manufacturing process.
- Able to multi-task, tolerate and manage changes in priorities and deadlines.
- Be flexible and adaptable and understand that you are part of a team.
- Adhere to safety practices to ensure safe and proper use of all tools and machinery.
- Be able to lift 50-75 lbs. pounds regularly and safely.

Requirements:
- Experience with cabinet shop equipment including, but not limited to, planers, shapers, table saws and miter saw.
- Experience in a woodworking or cabinet shop required.
- Ability to construct/assemble cabinets, cabinet components.
- Understanding of basic math.
- Ability to read Architectural/Shop drawings.
- Understanding and adherence to safety requirements and standards of the millwork trade.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to meet team and individual deadlines for key projects & tasks.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain a consistent teamwork mentality.
Salary:
