Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Victim Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance in various programs related to crime victimization. The ideal candidate will possess strong conflict management skills and a background/ education in criminal justice, social work, crisis intervention, and behavioral health. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure the safety and well-being of those impacted by harm.
Duties
- Facilitate communication between victims, law enforcement and prosecution
- Manage conflicts by employing conflict resolution strategies to address issues that arise within working within the criminal justice system.
- Collaborate with victims, law enforcement and prosecution to assess situations involving those involved in the criminal justice system and develop appropriate action plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of interactions, assessments, and progress reports related to cases.
- Conduct outreach programs to educate the community on available resources and support systems.
- Work closely with community organizations to strengthen partnerships that benefit victims of crime.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of the criminal justice system process.
- Proven ability in crisis management and intervention techniques.
- Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to navigate sensitive situations effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with an empathetic approach towards clients.
