What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP)/IDD Adult Day Program position at Bridge Development Corporation Mississippi?
The Direct Support Professional provides young adults with intellectual disabilities, autism and other developmental disabilities with independent living skills, academic development, health maintenance and medication administration, personal care, and behavioral development in accordance with a person's Plan of Service and Support.
This team member must be high energy, innovative, and have the desire to help young adults excel. This person will assist participation for people served in traditional daily and weekly activities such as adult education activities, grocery shopping, going to movies, arts and crafts, physical education, and other activities during the Day Transitional Learning Academy .
To perform the job successfully the person must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.
o Provide training, assistance and/or supervision to people in the areas of daily living, personal care, financial management, community and social integration, medication administration, and/or job skills development.
o Establish a therapeutic relationship with the people receiving services to ensure effective guidance, support and service delivery. Ensure objectives are met in accordance with the Service Plan. Provide support to members of direct support team to complete this responsibility.
o Provide transportation for people receiving services to planned and/or necessary activities and appointments including operating vans as required. When the Bridge Services Attendant is not available to provide transportation.
o Maintain current progress and service notes. Complete and submit required documentation to Director of Day Services and Community Support Services in accordance with any applicable policies and deadlines.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
