Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer with prior experience at Capital One for a long-term contract opportunity based in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development experience and a deep understanding of building scalable APIs and deploying applications in the cloud (AWS).
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python.
Build and consume RESTful APIs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and QA Engineers.
Work in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Deploy applications to AWS using services like Lambda, EC2, S3, API Gateway, etc.
Implement best coding practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Must-Have Skills:
8 years of hands-on Python development experience.
Strong experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
AWS Cloud experience (Lambda, S3, EC2, CloudFormation, etc.).
Experience with Docker, CI/CD tools (Jenkins/GitLab), and version control (Git).
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience working in Capital One's internal tools or frameworks.
Knowledge of JavaScript/Node.js is a plus.
Experience with Terraform or AWS CDK.
