The primary responsibility of this role is to review insurance applications by evaluating, classifying, and rating individuals and groups for insurance and accepts or rejects applications by performing the following duties.
What You'll Do
- Underwriting, rating and placement of personal lines products for our retail agents.
- Maintaining quality control guidelines and meeting requirements of carrier underwriting.
- Building key relationships with both retail & carrier partners.
- Market and meet with retail agency customers to develop business and cultivate relationships in an effort to grow a book of business.
- Examine documents such as application forms and inspections to determine degree of risk from such factors as applicant standing, occupation, accident experience and value and condition of the property.
- Maintain all files, records, and reports for accounts.
- Minimum education or prior job experience- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Holds an active state insurance license
- Two to three years relevant Personal Lines Insurance experience
- Carrier rating experience
- Highly supportive of the Sales & Production process
- Strong PC skills with proficiency in Word & Excel
- Attention to detail and possess the ability to efficiently multi-task
- Self-Motivated with ability to thrive in a production focused Team Environment
