We have U.S. offices in San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Raleigh, with small satellites in other parts of the country. This position will provide professional Program management leadership to one or more of BBIO’s clinical-stage programs. This position will be responsible for developing, organizing, managing, and driving development and portfolio strategies, plans, and deliverables for drug candidate(s) by collaborating with cross-functional team members to develop and execute integrated product development plans.

This position will also support the integration of Program Management process improvements across BBIO to establish best practices for continued organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all program management activities, including planning, decision making, metrics reporting, and global risk management related to our programs.
  • Effectively manage team meetings, including the Program Core Team (PCT), by ensuring that objectives are clearly defined, capturing and disseminating meeting outcomes, information, and action items, and following up on critical actions with teams.
  • Oversee ongoing development and maintenance of integrated cross-functional Program plans including Target Product Profiles to enable accurate financial and portfolio analysis and planning.
  • Foster leadership, strategic thinking, and business acumen while setting high standards that drive alignment, collaboration, accountability, and goal achievement within Program teams.
  • Identify and champion best practices in BBS Program Management, including the use of dashboards, templates, tools, and processes to drive efficiency, alignment, and effective planning.
  • Reporting and presentation of program information to the Executive Team, functional heads, and other key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to long-range planning (LRP) and budgetary planning at the program level.
  • Facilitate decision-making, collaboration, and problem-solving with people at all levels of the organization to accomplish shared program goals.
  • Clearly and proactively anticipate, identify, track, communicate, and propose resolution options for discrepancies in priorities and plans, prioritize complex and multiple / conflicting responsibilities and / or issues.
  • Effectively manage multiple Programs and responsibilities concurrently.

  • Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required (scientific or healthcare discipline preferred). Advanced degree preferred.
  • Pharmaceutical or biotech industry Program or program management experience with a strong knowledge of cross-functional drug development, including global regulatory authority guidelines.
  • Rare disease experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead and manage a matrixed Program team and coordinate cross-functional aspects of drug development (e.g., preclinical, CMC, regulatory, clinical, quality, commercial, etc.) to achieve development milestones.
  • Established ability to create a comprehensive Program plan and prioritize the execution of complex tasks within a team environment.
  • Ability to influence teams to meet or exceed Program deadlines consistently.
  • Experience in leading and managing team meetings; proven ability to create opportunities for meeting efficiency.
  • Demonstrated team management and team-building skills; enthusiastic about creating a thriving environment for teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation.
  • Effective communicator who can develop strong relationships to facilitate Program operations outside the context of formal meetings; able to effectively communicate with supervisor, co-workers, and external partners daily, in-person, by phone, and email.
  • Proactive problem solver with detailed organizational skills.
  • Has expert skills with the Microsoft Office Suite : Excel, Program, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook; ability to create compelling presentations for internal and external use.
  • Up to 10-20% travel may be required.
