Seasonal Aquatics Director Position at Private Beach Club in Bridgehampton, NY
Job Summary:
The Aquatics Director will be able to recruit and manage all aquatics staff. Candidate must have a working knowledge of the American Red Cross (or similar) Learn to Swim Program and the rules that govern a safe swim program, as well as understanding of the rules and regulations of the Suffolk County Board of Health for aquatic programs and facilities.
Job Qualifications & Experience
- Set up and run a safe aquatic program based on the American Red Cross (or similar) learn to swim standards and Suffolk County regulations for our membership and camp programs.
- Ability to recruit, interview and train prospective aquatics staff and determine qualifications for hiring.
- Plan and organize aquatics staff responsibilities and schedules.
- An ability to communicate effectively with Members, Staff and Management.
- Supervise and guide lifeguards, swim instructors and beach attendants to ensure facilities are functioning safely, professionally, and efficiently.
- Ensure the Club is adhering to aquatic safety standards and guidelines determined by the Suffolk County Board of Health.
- Coordinate and train all aquatics staff in CPR and AED.
- Ideal candidate will be able to (re)certify new and current lifeguards.
- An ability to present the aquatics program and safety requirements to Members.
- Oversee and assist in maintenance and repair of aquatics facilities and equipment.
- Have a fundamental understanding of what constitutes a “premier Club Experience” and proven ability to execute at that level.
- Strong “people” skills.
- Must enjoy working with kids.
- Must be willing to work long summer hours, weekends & holidays, Memorial Day – Labor Day. Some recruiting/hiring/setting up first aid hours required in the off-season months.
- At least two years of Aquatics Management experience preferred.
Certifications Required (all certs must be recognized by Suffolk County BOH):
- Water Safety Instructor/Instructor Trainer Certification
- Lifeguard Instructor or Lifeguard Manager
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (Must be within the year)
- ARC Responding to Emergencies with EpiPen Certification
- Level 1 Surf Lifeguard Certification preferred but not required
- Certified Pool Operator preferred but not required
Compensation
Highly competitive seasonal salary discretionary bonus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
