Salary: Approximately $130,000 to $164,00 per year, with potential flexibility, based on experience
Terrific new Controller position with a nonpartisan public policy think tank focused on promoting cooperation across North America and Europe. The Controller will work with the Chief Financial Officer and manage a team of accounting professionals to oversee accounting and finance responsibilities that meet organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the department including monthly close, AP/AR, payroll, audits, and compliance
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of internal controls
- Maintain compliance with donor requirements, regulations, and reporting
- Manage cash balances, cashflows, and payroll functions
- Create monthly financial statements, analyses, and other reports
- Assist the CFO with annual budgeting and forecasting
- Collaborate with auditors on audits and prepare Form 990
- Grants management and allocations
- Manage, mentor, and train a team of 3 direct and 6 indirect reports
Qualifications:
- Approximately 8 years of relevant nonprofit accounting experience, including time in a management role
- Bachelor's degree is required; CPA or advanced degree preferred
- Excellent understanding of GAAP, internal controls, grants accounting and other accounting matters
- Previous work in NetSuite or similar general ledger accounting software
- Some international knowledge a plus
- Experience with U.S. and European government grants preferred
- Ability to collaborate across the organization
