Boat Yard Foreman

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Yard Foreman to oversee the daily operations of our busy marine yard in Bridgeport, CT. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of boat systems and  maintenance, and a proven ability to manage yard logistics. This position requires a hands-on approach to ensuring safe and efficient yard operations while delivering outstanding service to our customers. As the Yard Foreman, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe handling of all incoming and outgoing vessels, as well as the management and scheduling of the service technicians, yard crew, equipment and supplies. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all operations run smoothly and efficiently, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. This position reports directly to the General Manager and works in alignment with our Service Managers. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in marine operations.
• Employee Management
• Scheduling and Planning
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in marine operations.
• Strong knowledge of boat systems, maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with boat handling equipment, including lifts, trailers, and forklifts
• Proficiency in equipment maintenance.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in marine systems.
• Forklift certification.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the marine yard, including the handling of all incoming and outgoing vessels, scheduling and management of yard and service technicians, and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with all rules, regulations and safety standards.
• Providing guidance and support as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of all yard activities, including vessel movements, and equipment maintenance.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all clients, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
