PURPOSE:
Perform duties assigned by Vehicle Maintenance Manager and Lead Mechanic including, but not limited to, vehicle maintenance, shop equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, vehicle operation, welding, fabrication, and interdepartmental assistance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform maintenance of vehicles, heavy equipment, and other equipment. Including, but not limited to, service and repair of pickups, ATV's, snowmobiles, snow blowers, snowcats, motor grader, dirt cat, dump truck, loader, and backhoe.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system problems.
- Properly use and maintain shop tools and equipment.
- Perform welding and fabrication as required with arc, mig, and acetylene torch.
- Assist in maintenance duties in other departments.
- Operate equipment in a prudent manner.
- Assist guests as needed.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance performed.
- Communicate vehicle status to other departments as needed.
- Work collaboratively with managers, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Maintain a clean, orderly office and safe work area.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
- Common and specialized mechanics tools.
- Diagnostic equipment.
- Snowcats, heavy equipment, and vehicles.
- Hose crimper
- Arc welder, acetylene torches, Mig welder, plasma cutter, hand and power tools.
- ALL TOOLS PROVIDED
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:
- Use good judgment and maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude throughout the season.
- Be reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Pay attention to the details.
- Perform duties in a safe and timely manner.
- Be available to work a consistent schedule throughout the season including holidays.
- Comply with and enforce Bridger Bowl Policies and Procedures.
- Contribute to Bridger Bowl's overall sustainability goals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 years of professional mechanic experience required.
- Have adequate knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics to properly diagnose and repair.
- Possess a valid Montana State driver’s license.
SUPERVISION:
- Supervision Given: This position has no supervisory requirements and duties.
- Supervision Received: Works under the supervision of the Vehicle Mechanic Manager and Lead Mechanic. Receives continued or individual assignments according to supervisors’ direction. Expectations are clearly set; advice and assistance are available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled seasonal check-ins.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Outdoors: Regularly work in wet, cold, quickly changing winter conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Indoors: Are often exposed to hazardous conditions and equipment that may result in minor injuries. Work in cramped workspaces that require getting into awkward positions and inside vehicles, such as trucks, cars, and vans. Work in close proximity to others, such as when sharing the same space in a garage.
- Exposure: Are frequently exposed to contaminants, such as antifreeze and chemical degreasers. Are often exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable. Sometimes work in extremely bright or inadequate lighting.
- Almost always wear protective gear, such as goggles or earplugs.
- Be capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs.
