Job Summary: Cosmetology/Barbering Instruction
Bridgerland Technical College is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic substitute instructor to work with Cosmetology/Barbering students. The ideal candidate will be flexible, friendly, and able to establish quick rapport with students.
Responsibilities:
- Familiarize yourself with the instructor's lesson plans to ensure consistency and optimal learning for students.
- Assist in assigning classwork and homework as necessary, following the instructor's lesson plans.
- Modify teaching methods to accommodate various student learning styles.
- Maintain a well-organized classroom or lab area and promote a positive learning environment.
- Supervise and assist students providing customer services in the lab or salon areas.
Duties and Skills:
- Effective communication skills to set the tone for classroom management.
- Ability to learn and operate the point of sale system.
- Scheduling appointments for customers in person and over the phone.
- Tracking, completing, and filing customer intake forms with students.
- Clearly explaining and demonstrating Cosmetology/Barbering techniques in a classroom or salon setting.
