Job Summary: The Cook is responsible for preparing meals according to established recipes and menus, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. The ideal candidate will have experience in skilled nursing or senior housing settings and be able to handle the dietary needs of our residents.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification preferred.
- Experience in cooking within a skilled nursing or senior housing environment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dietary guidelines and restrictions for senior care.
- Strong culinary skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus.
- Ensure all meals are prepared on time and meet the quality and presentation standards.
- Follow dietary guidelines and restrictions to meet the nutritional needs of residents.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, placing orders as needed.
- Assist in menu planning and development.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and management.
- Assist in training and onboarding new kitchen staff as needed.
