We support individuals to identify and master the skills needed to live independently. We are looking for a fresh and energetic face of some amazing person who is also proficient in sign language to join our network of Community Support Specialists! We tailor what and how we teach to the needs of each individual we support, and have several individuals who use sign language as their primary mode of communication, who would tremendously benefit from a CS staff who can freely communicate with them. Examples of work duties might include menu planning, shopping, cooking, laundry, budgeting, money management, safety, coordinating medical appointments and/or accessing recreational or social activities.
This is a part-time position that offers a flexible work schedule, and the freedom to work independently. Training is provided, and you will have the opportunity work with and learn from a wonderful team of colleagues! This is a great position for stay at home parents, retired or semi-retired folks, college and graduate students, or those looking to build their career and resume in education, nursing, counseling, and social services. Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient at Sign Language Communication.
- Driver's License in good standing, auto insurance, & a reliable vehicle.
- Previous experience in a health care setting a plus.
- Able to work independently and with others.
- Able to communicate effectively with others.
- Able to handle physical demands of the job (e.g. lifting patients up to 30 lbs., handling equipment, etc.)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
