ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Train, supervise, and schedule all operations staff.
2. Supervise inmate population, including meals, work periods, visitation, and furloughs.
3. Conduct intake on inmates when necessary.
4. Evaluate all operations staff after probationary period, and then annually thereafter.
5. Organize and facilitate staff meetings with operations staff at least monthly.
6. Implement security and operation policies and procedures as mandated by The Company.
7. Ensure safety and welfare of inmates, staff and visitors.
8. Delegate responsibility for the operation and security of the center.
9. Ensure all counts are conducted according to written policy.
10. Facilitate safety and emergency procedures as set by The Company standards.
11. Conduct written facilities inspections required by The Company standards.
12. Participate in monthly department head meetings with the Facility Director and weekly clinical staff meetings
13. Supervise The Company required operations department documentation and operations data entry on WRIMS.
14. Clock in and out utilizing the company time and attendance system.
15. Must be able to perform the major functions of job with or without an accommodation.
16. Required to attend all mandatory training specified by policy.
17. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
18. Report all Workers Compensation injuries, whether or not they require medical attention or not, to you immediate supervisor, the Business Administrator or the Facility Director.
19. Report all breaches of company policy or code of ethics that you have knowledge of, hear about or see regardless of who is involved in the breach to your immediate supervisor or the Facility Director. Or the HR Department if necessary.
20. Report all unsafe conditions that could affect clients/inmates or employees which you become aware of to your immediate supervisor or the Facility Director immediately.
21. To be eligible for promotion you must demonstrate organizational abilities and must have good written and oral communication skills.
22. Ensure that all applicable policies and procedures that fall within the scope of this job description are followed and adhered to.
23. Attend Department Head meetings as directed.
24. Inspect facility and grounds daily and document on appropriate form.
25. Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
EXPERIENCE: Prefer three years of experience working in a supervisory position; one year of experience working in the criminal justice field.
EDUCATION: BA in Management preferred. High School diploma or GED.
Education and Experience may be substituted for each other on a year-for-year basis as deemed applicable.
