The Industrial Engineering position focuses on optimizing the interconnected components of a manufacturing system, including personnel workflow/ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence, and equipment layouts.
An Industrial Engineering Co-op position applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and must be able to explain facts, policies, and practices related to the job area.
Responsibilities include working on problems of limited scope, contributing to projects or processes while receiving detailed instructions from higher-level professionals, establishing methods of maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel, conducting cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies, and assisting manufacturing plant/facilities engineers with facility planning and design.
You will also get to apply interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with fellow teammates and achieve common goals, work in a hands-on environment with cross-functional teams, and utilize project management skills to develop, manage, and control scope, schedule, and cost.
We are looking for students who are highly motivated, people-centric, and have strong initiative, work ethic, and levels of enthusiasm.
To thrive in this role, you need to be pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or another applicable major and actively enrolled in an accredited university, have sophomore-senior level standing with a GPA of at least 3.0, completed course work in Computer Aided Design (CAD)/AutoCAD, and be available to work 40 hours weekly in a 6-month minimum co-op assignment.
