Firestone Polymers, LLC is a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas, a division of Bridgestone Corporation, the world's largest tire and rubber company.Job CategoryProduction & Skilled TradesPosition SummaryMaintain and repair all assigned equipment in the plant in order to produce a finished product of expected quality and quantity. Includes equipment such as : pumps, compressors, blowers, driers, hydraulic equipment, conveyors, turbines, de-watering units, packaging equipment, etc. Must be able to troubleshoot problem areas in respect to equipment required to work on. Read blue prints and sketches, fabricate and install pump bases. Alignment of couplings on different equipment and rigging equipment for cranes to lift.ResponsibilitiesEQUIPMENT AND TOOLS : Hand Tools - Box end wrenches, open end wrenches, adjustable wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, hammers, ratchets and sockets, heavy hammers, etc.Power Tools - Air, electric and hydraulic operated, such as drills, impacts, grinders, jacks, etc.Hoisting Equipment -Hand and power operated, chain hoist, pull lifts, etc.SAFETY REQUIREMENTS : Exercise caution to follow all safety rules and regulations while working on any and all equipment assigned to repair or operate. Must be able to read and understand Job Safety Reviews. Must have mutual respect for the safety of fellow associates.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES : Lifting, standing long periods, carrying, climbing, kneeling, reaching, stooping, bending, pulling, good vision, good hearing, working in clustered areas and have strength in both hands and legs. Lifting of different types of equipment and tools from 10 - 50 lbs. approximately 50 % of the time. Capable of working in inclement weather such as heat or cold and rain.
