Role Summary:
The Kids Elementary Assistant is responsible for supporting the Pastor of Kids and Families in ministry to children in kindergarten - 5th grade at all Bridgetown Church Sunday gatherings by overseeing ministry activities, volunteers, and classrooms; ensuring safety, developmentally appropriate care, and hospitality.
Essential Job Responsibilities:

- Supervise elementary groups, including but not limited to ministry activities, volunteers, and classrooms.
- Support volunteers and kids as needed in assigned classrooms, responding to all needs promptly and including Kids Staff as needed.
- Ensure classroom environments, supplies, and activities are safe and developmentally appropriate.
- Ensure all Bridgetown child protection policies are being upheld in classrooms and report concerns to Pastor of Kids & Families.
- Assist with Kids Check-in as needed.
- Welcome new families of elementary children and help them orient to classrooms and volunteers.
- Assist Pastor of Kids & Families with miscellaneous Sunday duties related to elementary classrooms, as assigned, including teaching large group lesson.
- Attend weekly Kids Staff meeting.
- Attend quarterly 4th and 5th grade events.
- Tidy, clean, and organize assigned classrooms.
- Monitor, order, and restock supplies as needed in assigned classrooms.
- Provide feedback to Kids Staff about classrooms, supplies, curriculum, policies and procedures in assigned classrooms to ensure all ministry activities meet physical and developmental needs of children. Help implement any resulting changes.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Living within character qualifications of 1 Timothy 3v1-13
- Attempting to Follow Bridgetown’s Rule of Life
- Understand and adhere to all Bridgetown policies and procedures as established by our board and elders
- Vision-driven and action-orientated leader
- Experience delegating and managing a team or individual
- Responsible, self-starter who is highly organized and takes initiative
- Knowledge and experience using common computer programs and email
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Bonus Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in elementary education, summer camp, or kids ministry.
- Valid driver’s license and viable transportation
