Planning, teaching, and evaluating theory and clinical components of assigned courses to a diverse student population Responsible for clinical teaching, student supervision and patient care in on-campus dental hygiene clinic Apply teaching techniques effectively in classrooms, laboratory, or clinic setting Document background in current educational methodology concepts consistent with teaching assignments and distance education if appropriate Ability to communicate effectively with students, peers, constituents, and communities of interest Student advisement and academic counseling Attendance at on-campus dental hygiene faculty, advisory committee, and college committee meetings Assisting with maintenance of records and reports Service to students, professional development, and service to the institution and community Work in a professional, ethical and collegial manner with faculty and students in the best interests of the dental hygiene department and the people it serves. Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Dental Hygiene from a school accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation Current WV Dental Hygiene Licensure or ability to obtain WV License before August 2024
Preferred
Two years of higher education experience Five years of dental hygiene experience with demonstrated clinical competence in providing direct patient care Local Anesthesia Certificate General Supervision Permit Demonstrated commitment to professional development Demonstrated proficiency in use of technology including patient software and learning management systems Background in educational theory and practice, methodology and curriculum assessment in an accredited dental hygiene program
