Position Details:
In addition to the important tasks of assisting with meal preparation, service, and clean up after meals while following safety and sanitation standards, this is an opportunity to work with some very talented people who have fun, enjoy their work, and take exceptional care of our residents and guests.
- Actively assign team members shift schedules and maintain staffing schedules following BRC and industry regulatory requirements for personnel
- Create and distribute shift schedules to team members following BRC’s timeline and procedures
- Manage shift schedules vacancies due to team member absences (scheduled and unplanned) by contacting other team members to fill schedule vacancies
- Enters new team members into scheduling software and provides training of software for team members, maintaining up-to-date team members records in support of scheduling efforts and team member communications
- Proactively communicate schedule and staffing information and changes to appropriate team leaders, requesting support for addressing staffing challenges as needed
- Partner with HR Recruiting team regarding current and upcoming staffing needs, support the recruiting and onboarding of new team members
- Validates and reconciles scheduled hours worked by team members through schedule reporting.
- Ensure team member actual time worked is reviewed and approved for biweekly payroll for assigned team followed the assigned payroll schedule and timeline
- Partner with HR Payroll team on any concerns or discrepancies to ensure accurate payroll data
- Receive and coordinate decisions regarding team member time off requests with appropriate team leaders and communicating with team members
- Receive, document and address staffing call-outs when responsible for the call-out phone on a rotational schedule
- Participate in regularly scheduled inspections, providing scheduling and staffing information as requested
- Other duties as assigned
- Demonstrated experience in a scheduling position (preferably scheduling staff/team members for work shifts)
- High School diploma or GED is required
- Experience successfully using and adapting to technology, previous experience with scheduling software preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and personalities
- Exceptional customer service skills including prompt follow-up, attention to detail, active listening, and a helpful compassionate demeanor
- Demonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards, maintaining professionalism and integrity in all interactions with residents, team members and families while upholding the values and mission of BRC
- Ability to work Monday-Friday during standard business hours
- CNA License (or the willingness to acquire) is preferred
The purpose of the Scheduler is to support the BRC community by maintaining a weekly team schedule for assigned teams and actively engaging with team members to fill any open shifts on the schedule as needed. As part of the BRC HR team, the Scheduler provides support in a variety of other team member functions including team member hiring, payroll, etc. The Scheduler is encouraged to have regular involvement with resident engagement.
