We are seeking a highly skilled EHR Specialist to manage and optimize our Qualifacts CareLogic EHR system. This role requires a strong technical background and a deep understanding of EHR systems, particularly CareLogic. This position will be responsible for ensuring the system's functionality, security, and compliance with federal, state and applicable healthcare regulations.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The EHR Specialist will lead efforts to support our organization's EHR needs, serving as a key clinical IT resource for the implementation, maintenance, and modification of the EHR system. This position will collaborate with leadership, clinical users, and other IT team members to ensure comprehensive client care is delivered efficiently and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with clinical and administrative staff, understand technology and application-related issues, and resolve them.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- System Management: Oversees the daily operations of the CareLogic EHR system, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Technical Support: Provides technical support to end-users, troubleshoots issues, and implements solutions to enhance system functionality.
- Configuration and Customization: Configures and customizes the EHR system to meet the specific needs of our organization, including workflows, data collection, and reporting.
- Integration: Manages the integration of CareLogic with other healthcare systems and applications, ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability.
- Compliance: Ensures the EHR system complies with all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPPA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other federal and state requirements.
- Training: Conducts training sessions for staff to ensure they are proficient in using the CareLogic EHR system.
- Documentation: Maintains comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Security: Implement and monitor security measures to protect patient data and ensure system integrity.
This position may perform other related duties as assigned by the IT Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field or a combination of relevant education and experience in related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with EHR systems, preferably Qualifacts CareLogic.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in system configuration, troubleshooting, and integration. Experience with FHIR APIs secure data exchange protocols.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
- Interpersonal and Communication: Excellent people skills with strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This position is required to successfully pass criminal history background checks.
