What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Representative position at Bridgeway Credit Union?
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the control of late and/or delinquent loan accounts and pending late payment
reminders. Make follow-up telephone calls on delinquent loan accounts and maintain accurate records on delinquent
loan accounts. Optimize collections on accounts while balancing the goodwill of members with the overall business
interest of the credit union.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor payments for late and/or delinquent status. Follow up delinquent, high-balance, and overdue credit
balance accounts by phone and/or letter.
Ensure professional interface with members.
Contact high balance and/or delinquent members by telephone and mail to determine the reasons for balance or delinquency and assist them in developing plans to bring accounts to a current status.
Notify co-signers regarding the status of delinquent actions.
Update files and system accounts via the credit union’s delinquent loan collection menus.
Secure credit bureau reports.
Skip trace on loan accounts
Research payroll deductions, stops, starts, and changes as they may affect the status of loan repayment.
Assist members with delinquent real estate loans to resolve delinquency.
Investigate and correct discrepancies in the loan applications and credit bureau reports.
Monitor all new loans to the credit union for collateral.
Works with the loan department to perfect all liens on property used for collateral loans. To include Titles and/or UCC’s. All liens will be applied for, and lien-perfecting documents will be filed within 48 hours of loan closing when title is received.
Process paid-outs outs, title and/or UCC finalization, GAP, Warranty, and Debt Protection claims. All liens will be released, and titles mailed to appropriate parties within 15 days of payoff.
Manage VINtek for accuracy and secure lien processing
Demonstrates an unsurpassed commitment to exceptional member service and teamwork.
Is fully knowledgeable of all credit union products and services and can confidently offer appropriate solutions to fit member needs.
Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and service
Respond to emails or other electronic requests submitted by members within 24 hours.
Support and promote the Credit Union's Vision, Mission, and Core Values
Any other duties assigned by Director of Collections.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and use hands to operate a standard computer keyboard. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
When in the office, typical office conditions; noise level is usually quiet. May travel to other branches and other locations where conditions could vary. Travel in one's own vehicle or with a credit union-provided vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR THE POSITION:
Experience and Skill Requirements:
Knowledge of government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations.
Knowledge and awareness of all credit union products and services.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
Knowledge of Microsoft products
Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
Decision Making - Ability to make critical decisions while following Credit Union procedures.
Education Requirements:
High School degree
Five years of sufficient related banking/credit union/financial experience
