BridgeWorks is hiring an Automotive Service Technician in the Greenville area 1st shift, $16-18 hr.
Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Service Technician to join our dealership. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicle systems, ensuring the highest level of service quality.
This position requires keen attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
This position will prep cars for sale at our used car dealer, as well as maintain the fleet of vehicles for Miracle Hill.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience as an automotive service technician is preferred.
- ASE certification or similar credentials is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
Key Responsibilities :
- Diagnose Vehicle Issues : Use diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot problems with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, braking, and HVAC systems.
- Plan and Perform Repairs : Use technical manuals, charts, and your experience to plan and execute repairs. Replace parts like brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and more.
- Test and Adjust Systems : After repairs, test and adjust systems to ensure they meet manufacturer specifications for safety and performance.
- Communication : Clearly explain issues and required repairs, provide estimates and discuss the work to be performed, or have knowledge on estimated cost and location where the repair can be completed.
- Complete Documentation : Complete paperwork and update vehicle logbooks as needed.
Job Requirements :
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in conditions involving dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
- Strong reading comprehension and understanding of service manuals.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Proven experience in automotive diagnostics and repair, with a solid understanding of vehicle systems and components.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs or more).
- Ability to work in noisy, dirty, and potentially hazardous environments.
