What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coxswain position at Briggs Marine and Environmental Services?
The Coxswain will be a member of a flexible duty watch team operating a Pilot Transfer Service out of Liverpool, Heysham and Lynas and will be expected to operate company vessels efficiently and safely in carrying out the required functions, i.e. Pilot transfer, vessel mooring operations, safety boat duties, harbour debris collection, and crewing on any other vessel for which you are trained.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive a company vehicle for the purpose of transporting yourself and other colleagues to a work site.
- Basic mechanical maintenance/checks of launches and equipment
- General housekeeping of launch and accommodation
- Maintaining logbooks and safety records
- Refuelling pilot boats/workboats with full environment protection
- Responding to incidents afloat as directed by Port Control
- Undertake any other duty as deemed appropriate by your Duty Manager / Operations Manager, where trained to do so
- Ensure compliance with company safety management system
- Advanced Powerboat Licence with Commercial Endorsement or Yacht Master Power with Commercial Endorsement.
