Job Description
Performs all human resources activities, such as employment, labor relations and employee service by performing the following duties below.
Responsibilities
- Administers employment processes, including interviewing, onboarding, status changes, and exiting documentation.
- Collaborates with management to fulfill staffing needs by recruiting new hires and positioning labor internally.
- Maintains a fair and consistent discipline process. Provides support to managers with problem resolution, performance management, disciplinary actions and grievance procedures.
- Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, reconciling billing invoices, and communicating benefits to employees, and organizes and administers annual open enrollment process.
- Prepares, distributes, and manages the employee evaluation program. Works with the management team to ensure completeness and fairness of the process on an annual basis.
- Continually reviews and assists in updating the employee handbook, job descriptions and personnel related policies.
- Handles employee related complaints and concerns, investigating as necessary and ensuring a healthy, non-hostile workplace for all employees.
- Oversees all work-related injury claims to ensure integrity, on-going case management and reporting compliance including the OSHA 300 Log.
- Manages DOT drug testing requirements and documents for CDL drivers.
- Assists with regulatory reporting and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Compiles and processes payroll on a bi-weekly basis and works closely with accounting to maintain accurate payroll deductions including all garnishments.
- Coordinates all employee record-keeping functions including PSSL requests and verifying accuracy through the payroll process.
- Manages all leave of absences, including FMLA, STD, LTD.
- Plan and organize employee meetings to include training/education and safety.
- Maintains personnel files according to best practices..
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong understanding of Human Resources practices and ability to apply knowledge to actual situations.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, recruitment, employee relations and safety.
- Ability to make timely and informed decisions and understand when to escalate issues.
- Experienced in managing workers compensation claims, employment security claims and FMLA.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and HRIS familiarity.
- Demonstrates a high degree of professional maturity, ability to maintain composure in sensitive or stressful situations, and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Associate Degree or equivalent job specific experience
- 2 years Human Resources experience
