What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter / 40 hours / Days / BWH Engineering position at Brigham and Women's Hospital?
Qualifications:
1. Must be able to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations in order to read and interpret drawings and sketches and complete accurate measurements.
2. Requires knowledge of carpentry skills such as cabinet making usually acquired through 2 years of technical training or related experience.
3. Two to three years of direct carpentry experience in wood constructions, maintenance and repair required.
Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Must be able to operate safely and efficiently a variety of hand and power tools.
2. Work requires the ability to lift lumber, doors and heavy times (over 30 lbs.) regularly.
Working Conditions:
1. Work requires regular exposure to dust, dirt and excessive noise from power tools.
2. Work requires regular walking, standing and climbing of ladders.
3. May be required to work with a containment or in a containment booth.
4. May be required to work with a respirator.
Supervisory Responsibility: None.
