Job Description :
- Operate CT equipment (e.g., CT scanner, power injector, laser printer, patient monitoring devices) to acquire diagnostic images for use by physicians.
- Ensure patients are properly prepared, positioned, and immobilized, using protective shielding as needed.
- Select appropriate imaging factors and obtain diagnostic images according to departmental protocol.
- Explain examinations to patients, considering their physical and emotional needs, while maintaining ethical standards such as patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Deliver patient care within the scope of license and training.
- Maintain effective working relations and communication with departmental and other hospital personnel.
- Calibrate and verify the operation of all equipment used during the workday and notify the appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions.
- Execute paperwork and Radiology Information System functions for each patient exam, including scheduling, completing exams, and transferring images to PACS.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under a radiologist's direction, adhering to all hospital and departmental policies.
- Attend staff meetings and in-services, and maintain appropriate continuing education credits.
- Oversee and instruct various personnel and technology students within the department.
- Prepare equipment, room, and necessary supplies for each patient and regular daily use, restocking as needed.
- Participate in research programs, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects.
- Assume responsibilities for on-call coverage and remain flexible in shift coverage situations.
- Rotate within the department, divisions, and off-site clinics as required, promoting harmony within the department.
- Transport and transfer patients using established procedures.
- Use independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative under pressure when performing patient exams.
- Perform all other duties as directed.
