Job Summary
Schedule: Full time Days As an integrated part of Brigham and Women’s Emergency Department, staff at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Emergency Department provides compassionate and personalized care to every patient who comes through our doors. Our board-certified emergency physicians, physician assistants, nurses and unit service techs have extensive experience in emergency care. We have a 21-bed unit and staffing ratios for nursing are 4 to 1. We stagger our nursing shifts throughout the day to cover the highest volume times with the most staff. We care for patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, and work as a team to provide the best possible treatment. Our new patient care model has been designed to provide high-quality, efficient care, and to reduce unnecessary wait times. Diagnostic X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and MRI is available for most of the day, seven days a week. Brigham and Women s Faulkner Hospital is a Primary Stroke Center and are in process of initiating a TeleStroke Program in collaboration with BWH and MGH. I n collaboration with the Associate Chief Nurse, the Nursing Director plans, organizes, implements and oversees clinical and program development in their assigned area(s) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Brigham & Women’s Faulkner Hospital as well as the regulatory requirements of the JCAHO and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Responsibilities include oversight of professional nursing practice. Planning, management and operation of assigned area(s) to ensure quality patient care for patients in the following age groups: adolescents, adults and geriatrics. The Nursing Director will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. They partner with leadership to set mutual goals that advance teamwork, learning, just culture and the environment of care. Qualifications
- BSN required. - Master’s Degree in Nursing or a relative field OR Enrollment in a Master’s Degree program in Nursing or related field required. - Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure. - Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required - 5-10 years in applicable field, progressive leadership experience, m anagement experience preferred.
