Description
We are interested in integrating specialized knowledge from various scientific and engineering disciplines and applying it to solve real-life issues. Currently, we are seeking eager students and volunteer trainees to assist in two projects: (1) the development of point-of-care diagnostics for Alzheimer's Disease through the quantification of target blood-based biomarkers; and (2) the development of an AI-assisted platform for the treatment of non-obstructive azoospermia patients suffering from severe infertility. The successful candidates will be involved in all stages of the biosensing device development, including the design, prototyping, optimization, and validation of the device. Prior research experience in point-of-care assays, protein conjugation, microscopic imaging, data analysis, and machine learning is a plus.
Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- A strong passion for translational medicine work
- Experience in a laboratory setting
- Self-motivation with a strong drive to succeed and a desire to learn
- Eagerness to engage in highly interdisciplinary projects, collaborating with team members who have diverse backgrounds in engineering, chemistry, biology, and computer programming
- Strong written and communication skills
The ideal candidates will have:
- Background in biology/chemistry and wet bench work
- Background in device design and fabrication
- Background in point of care diagnostics
- Background in machine learning
