The perioperative nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality patient care during surgical procedures.
Maintaining a current Utah Registered Nurse (RN) license is essential for this position. Compact licenses are accepted, ensuring flexibility in your career.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) certification is required within 7 days of hire. This demonstrates our commitment to quality patient care from the outset.
- Advanced certifications in American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are also necessary, with a certification deadline of 90 days post-hire. These additional qualifications showcase our dedication to exceptional patient care.
A graduate degree from an accredited school of professional nursing is mandatory. Strong oral and written communication skills are equally crucial for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals.
One year of relevant experience is required for this position; two years of experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to possess the ability to practice nursing as defined by diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health alterations. Utilizing the nursing process is fundamental to delivering quality care, including administering treatments and medication, interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care, collaborating with other healthcare providers, and educating patients and their significant others.
Mastery of math computational skills, particularly dosage calculations, is a key requirement. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to pass competencies specific to this position.
