Job Summary
The Admissions Officer is responsible for understanding the mission of the university and ensuring that all recruitment and admissions efforts align with achieving that mission. This role involves guiding prospective students through the application process, evaluating applications, making admission decisions, and collaborating with various stakeholders to meet enrollment goals. Additionally, the Admissions Officer will utilize institutional and external data to inform enrollment planning and integrate analysis into strategic initiatives. Experience in data analysis is highly recommended for this position. While the primary focus is on admissions, the role also includes strategic enrollment and student recruitment efforts.
Primary Responsibilities
Admissions (80%)
- Represent the university and provide accurate, relevant information to prospective students and stakeholders.
- Guide prospective students through the entire application process, from initial inquiry to enrollment.
- Review and evaluate student credentials, including transcripts, test scores, and other admissions criteria.
- Maintain familiarity with international education and U.S. domestic systems for effective admissions decision-making.
- Participate in peer review sessions to ensure fair and timely admissions decisions.
- Use and maintain electronic student admissions systems to evaluate, track, annotate, and communicate with applicants.
- Respond to inquiries and manage appeals or challenging customer interactions professionally.
- Collaborate with facilitators to ensure they are updated on policy changes and admissions developments.
- Work with student services departments to enforce academic standards, rules, and regulations.
- Collect and analyze data for reporting, institutional research, and effective admissions processes.
- Prepare reports, surveys, and correspondence as necessary.
- Assist in training facilitators and staff on admissions processes and updates.
- Stay informed about college programs and requirements to enhance advising efforts.
- Maintain knowledge of the student information system, BYU-Hawaii mission, and programs.

Benefits
Approximate starting salary : $57,000 - $65,000. The wage offered could be above or below range based on education and experience as it relates to the job description.
