As a Bakery Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the daily production of an assortment of breads, bagels, and doughs while ensuring quality, efficiency, and cleanliness in all aspects of our production area. You’ll lead a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, while maintaining strict health and hygiene standards.
What you will be doing in this position:
- Lead Production: Oversee daily production of breads, bagels, and doughs, making timely decisions on production schedules, batch sizes, and ingredient needs.
- Ensure Quality: Supervise the production process to ensure all products meet our high standards, inspecting final products for quality and consistency.
- Manage Team: Supervise full-time and student employees, providing training on production procedures, equipment use, safety protocols, and good work habits.
- Coordinate Orders: Organize and prep orders, ensuring on-time delivery to customers, including university students, employees, guests, and retail clients.
- Optimize Operations: Streamline production processes using existing equipment and resources to maximize efficiency and product quality.
- Maintain Inventory: Monitor raw ingredient levels, inventory organization, and product rotation to ensure accuracy and freshness.
- Cleaning and Hygiene: Implement and oversee daily cleaning routines to uphold strict hygiene standards in the bakery area, including chemical safety training.
- Mentorship: Provide constructive feedback to employees to foster continuous improvement and ensure the team meets production goals.
What Qualifies You for this Role:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in food production, preferably in a high-volume bakery environment.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Basic knowledge of production equipment used in a bakery setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage a diverse team.
- Current ServSafe or Utah County Food Handler's Permit.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or certification.
- 5 years of managerial experience in a high-volume bakery, especially focused on doughnuts and bagels.
- Advanced knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards.
