Job Description
Laundry Worker 1
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Laundry Worker to support the daily operations of our laundry facility. This position is responsible for sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens, garments, and other items according to established standards. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean and efficient work environment and contribute to high levels of service and satisfaction.
What you’ll do in this position:
- Sort laundry items by color, fabric, and cleaning requirements
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment
- Load and unload laundry machines and monitor proper usage of detergent and chemicals
- Fold, hang, and package cleaned laundry as required
- Inspect laundry for stains, damage, or needed repairs before and after cleaning
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry room and equipment, following all safety and sanitation procedures
- Track inventory levels of laundry supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed
- Assist with delivery or distribution of clean items as needed
- Follow all facility and departmental guidelines and contribute to team goals
What qualifies you for this role:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or similar work is a plus, but not required
- Basic understanding of laundry equipment and safety procedures
- Good attention to detail and time management skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Compensation Range
Actual compensation based on education and experience
