Job Summary:
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the physical environment of all Bright Beginnings Child Development Centers. This role ensures that all facilities, equipment, and grounds are maintained to the highest safety, cleanliness, and functionality standards. The Facilities Supervisor works closely with center staff, management, and vendors to create a safe and welcoming space for children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance & Repairs:
- Conduct routine inspections of the building, playground, and grounds to ensure safety and functionality.
- Perform or coordinate minor repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks related to plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and structural needs.
- Ensure that all equipment, such as classroom furniture, toys, and playground structures, are in good working condition.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for major repairs, inspections, and specialized maintenance.

Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all facilities comply with local, state, and federal health, safety, and fire codes.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed for indoor and outdoor areas, including playground equipment, emergency exits, and fire safety systems.
- Conduct regular safety drills (fire, lockdown, etc.) and ensure staff are trained in emergency response procedures.
- Manage the cleaning and sanitation of facilities, ensuring all areas meet health and hygiene standards.

Staff Support & Collaboration:
- Work closely with center management and staff to address facility-related needs.
- Support special events or activities requiring unique facility arrangements or equipment setups.
- Train staff on basic facilities and safety protocols, such as emergency exits, fire extinguisher use, and maintaining clean play areas.

Grounds & Exterior Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of exterior spaces, including play yards, gardens, parking lots, and sidewalks.
- Ensure that outdoor play areas are safe and free from hazards, such as sharp objects, toxic plants, or unsafe equipment.
- Oversee seasonal maintenance such as snow removal, lawn care, and pest control.

Inventory Management:
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies, maintenance tools, and facility-related equipment.
- Order and stock necessary materials as needed while staying within the designated budget.

Budget & Reporting:
- Assist with budget planning for facility-related expenses.
- Track and report on facility maintenance costs, upcoming repairs, and ongoing projects.
- Submit regular maintenance reports to management, highlighting areas requiring attention or upgrades.
Qualifications:

Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility management, building maintenance, or related fields. Experience in a childcare or educational setting is a plus.
- Proven experience in safety compliance, basic construction, and maintenance tasks.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Working Conditions:
