What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Sports and Recreation Counselor position at Bright Beginnings Preschool?
Lead counselor needed for a Sports and Recreation Summer Camp for children ages 6 - 12 at an indoor JCC/YMCA facility in Edison. Th Lead Counselor will develop and run all aspects of the program including sports instruction, group games, and general supervision of the half and full day programs ensuring safety and enjoyment. The Lead Counselor will work under the direction of the Director and may be assigned Assistant Counselors depending on enrollment numbers.
The camp is in session from June 30th until August 15th, five days per week, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Experience is required with sports and recreation activities and games . Certification is preferred but not mandatory. Ideal position for summer work for P.E. Teachers and those interested in daily physical activity and involvement with younger children.
Our indoor facility includes two full-sized gyms, an indoor pool staffed by American Red Cross Swim Instructors and an outdoor play area/park-like setting.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.5 per week
