What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist position at Bright Care Medical Group LLC?
We are looking for an experienced medical assistant, preferably bilingual who can be a team player and has experience in phlebotomy
Job Description:
- Explaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process
- Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas
- Gathering medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags, and test tubes
- Verifying patient information and labeling blood samples properly
- Accurately updating patient information in the organization’s database
- Helping nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood draws
- Working with supervising Physicians and following their directions at all times
- Taking all vitals (weight, height, and blood pressure) medication review, explaining treatment and procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician. Organizing charts for new and existing patients, making sure that forms are filled up properly and signed accordingly, and preparing Referrals and Authorizations.
- EMR, phlebotomy, and EKG experience
- Knowledge of HEDIS measures
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Schedule: 8 hour shift and weekend availability
Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
License/Certification: BLS Certification (Preferred), Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
