Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments and work areas using aseptic techniques.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and office inventory.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft for patient management and medical coding.
- Operate 3D scanners for imaging as needed, particularly in pediatric cases.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile working environment.
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes and medical coding systems.
- Experience with medical imaging technologies is preferred.
- Previous experience with Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients, demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and team members.
