Linehaul Operations Manager

We are seeking a full-time FedEx Ground Linehaul Manager (BC) in Olive Branch, MS.

We are a FedEx Ground Independent Contractor operating from three terminals. The Linehaul Operations Manager will oversee dispatch and operations for up to 17 trucks at a time between two sites in Olive Branch, MS and Memphis, TN. Occasional communication with our satellite operation in Alexandria, LA may be required.

The Linehaul Operations Manager is responsible for leading our team - ensuring safety and accountability and building positive, professional relationships with drivers and FedEx Ground staff. Currently holding an active CDL-A certification with doubles endorsement is required!

We are looking for a firm yet, compassionate individual who understands people, the transportation industry, and DOT/FMCSR regulations. Knowledge of FedEx Linehaul space highly preferred. Must be coachable.

Schedule & Benefits:

• $52,000-$75,000 annual salary

Linehaul Manager Responsibilities:

• Communication, dependability, decisiveness, and initiative are detrimental to the success of the Linehaul Manager.
• As the lifeline of the drivers, Linehaul Manager must maintain contact with all drivers and FedEx Ground hub managers.
• Supervise linehaul operations, ensuring compliance, safety, efficiency and profitability.
• On-call availability required for call-offs and emergencies.
• Some work may be done remotely or from home.
• Must answer duty cell phone at any time of day/night.
• Build and manage a team of drivers to meet the needs of the business.
• Perform routine safety audits and identify strengths and areas of opportunity in operations and driver performance and coach drivers to success.
• Cover routes and provide spot training in the trucks to drivers when necessary.
• Ensure driver compliance to policies including uniforms, customer service, and accurate recordkeeping (pre-post trip, DOT compliance, insurance cards, fuel cards, accident packets, etc.)
• Follow-up with local management on all VEDR recordable incidents and accidents according to DOT requirements.

Linehaul Manager Requirements:

• 3 years of logistics/transportation CDL driving required - no safety incidents ever!
• Familiarity with Google Drive, Slack and other software applications for remote operations
• Driver management experience preferred; FedEx BC or Ops Manager Experience a major plus
• CDL-A with doubles endorsement required
• Must be deemed "Eligible" for badging (Background/MVR/FMCSA/Employment Verifications, etc.)
• Working knowledge of HOS and VEDR equipment preferred
