Description

The Crew Leader must be fully familiar with all aspects of Landscape Maintenance to include cleaning, mowing, mulching, pruning, trimming, edging, weed removal, bed maintenance, fertilization, etc.; operate all equipment, order the correct materials; and interact with customers, subcontractors and suppliers. He requires minimal supervision and performs all functions safely and while leading a team of two to six employees. The team leader must also attend to and complete all work-related paperwork and administrative requirements while creating and maintaining a professional work environment.

Duties

The Crew Leader, who is a WORK FOREMAN, must possess the following skill set:

A. Possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable on the company's insurance policy.

B. Have a clean criminal record.

C. Legal documentation to verify eligibility for employment.

D. Physically able to handle the workload of a Maintenance Leader and/or Laborer.

E. Have a full range of motion in the upper and lower body.

F. Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.

G. Bilingual in Spanish and English in oral and written form.

H. Able to interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

A. They have a minimum of two years of experience in landscape maintenance.

B. Thoroughly understand all aspects of landscape maintenance as described above.

C. Able to operate the company truck and all maintenance equipment safely and effectively.

D. Able to perform all daily preventive maintenance (PM) on the company's equipment.

E. Able to ask for materials.

F. You have the leadership and behavioral skills to effectively manage and direct a crew of two to four people.

G. Meets or exceeds the company's production standards for landscape maintenance.

H. Ensures that jobs stay on schedule and on budget.

I. Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisors.

J. It ensures that all workers' compensation insurance claims are properly documented and reported promptly.

K. Ensures that all accidents are properly documented and reported promptly.

L. Looks for extras and converts them to change orders when appropriate.

M. Ensures that all change orders are processed correctly.

N. Interacts with subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate completion of their project phase.

O. Interact with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of work materials.

P. Ensures that the company's production standards are met.

Q. Keep a clean crew truck at all times.

R. Able to complete and process all necessary work paperwork, purchase orders and timesheets, etc.

S. Able to interact with customers in a professional and competent manner.

T. Able to train crew as a team and maintain a high level of morale.

U. Ensures that labor cost reports are properly analyzed.

V. Thoroughly understands and complies with the company's policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.

W. Able to work with minimal supervision from the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor, but knows when to call for help.

X. You are certified in CPR and First Aid.

Y. Continuing education requirement: minimum of 10 hours per year.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week
